Krista is a traveling Latina having a hard time “discovering herself” the way they always seem to in books and movies. Due to past trauma, Krista starts to believe she is permanently damaged and will never find healing or purpose.

When Krista’s cousin Jennifer develops leukemia, Krista stops traveling to become her full-time caregiver. Is she too damaged to do a good job? Will Jennifer die? Will Krista’s mental health issues cause her to fall apart, or does she have a secret reserve of strength?
